| April 19, 2004 Whoa. It's been awhile since I've updated. Since my last post I've gotten into grad schools at UVermont and Colorado State. So, it looks like I'm heading back to Fort Collins sometime this summer. I've also been upgrading my computer with the last of the parts coming this week, so I should be able to start recording again after wednesday or so. Additionally, I'm starting to read up on copyright law, and it's not as tough as it first seemed. Copyright vests at the moment of creation (creation is confirmed at recording, so technically it vests when there's a recording, written lyrics, etc.), but for legal reasons the copyright must be recorded by the government before any legal action can be taken. It's actually pretty reasonable. Don't worry, more music coming ("No Woman No Cry (Kelly's mix)" may be done this weekend). March 28, 2004 Just starting to get back to normal from vacation. I've been going back through my old Dave Matthews Band books this weekend. I'm looking for inspiration and trying to look at where I've come from musically over the past six years. Other than that I'm looking forward to the baseball season starting this week. I'll try to update the music section this week. March 3, 2004 Meat Thermometer (beta) is done. I burned the first copies today. I think the results are fairly decent. March 2, 2004 Playing in pain today. I smushed my hand lifting yeaterday, but it's only a bruise. I did have a productive day finishing three songs for PMMT. This leaves only Show Me and Ryan's Song (My Best Friend?) left of the aplha album (Jack Kerouac will wait until it feels right). Needless to say, It will be done very soon. Now, I'm thinking of cover-art. Feb 25, 2004 I know it's been a while since I've done anything, but I've been sick, so no singing. I have tried out some guitar things and have posted one of them (faking it). I did manage to finish Morrowind (the game) over the weekend, so a two month obsession is now done. I think we will have Meat thermometer done by Vacation if I don't get called in to work too often the next two and a half weeks. Feb 15, 2004 I'd come down with the sniffles the last few days, so no recording, but ai have been playing around with my electric guitar and added a little concept (Mr. B on Vacation (a))from my messings. I'm putting more modest goals this week of three songs for PM:MT, so maybe I won't fall behind. Feb. 10, 2004 The lyrics Jeff posted dove-tailed so nice into my Free by Monday that I had to stick them together. I'm still working out some kinks in the lyrics I've written for it, but hopefully Jeffypop and I can duct tape down the loose ends. If the popster likes the results, this could be a new way of doing things. Feb. 9, 2004 Sadly, this weekend was a wash. Saturday I tried to move my good soundcard to my old computer to minimize system noise in recordings, but the drivers caused major system crash, so I'm going to have to record with the older soundcard that I recorded PoofyButt with. It's looking like I should have the songs I want to re-record done by this weekend. There are some songs that will survive in tact from their alpha recordings ("There goes Mary," "Slacker Retrospective," "Signed, Epstein's Mother") but the rest will get shiny new recordings this week. I'm going to do "Going to Tell My Mom" today and try to get "The 'Kosh" done tonight. Also, I'm tinkering with a new song "Free by Monday" which I'll post what I have for Jeff to get his input. Feb. 6, 2004 www.peripheralmadness.com is up. I'll try to add the first new song today, and Jeff should be coming on soon. I'm excited to be getting this thing going. Also, I'm going to make an attempt to finish the beta of Meat Thermometer this weekend. Keep the faith, you can sell it on eBay later. Feb. 5, 2004 Howdy, all. This is my first attempt at a web page, so give me advice if you want to see something different than what I have. Keep in mind that I'm trying to keep things simple for the 56kers aout there. |
